Some aspects of the work that the Lord carried out through this brother in Brazil.

During the month of February (2003) two brethren in Christ (Liseu, from Santa Cruz das Palmeiras, and Bill, from Pirassununga) traveled to a region known as Vale do Jequitinhonha with the intention of visiting some believers there. We left the interior of the state of São Paulo, where we live, at around 05:00 am on Wednesday, 12th. In São Paulo city we boarded a bus at 10:30 am to Cândido Sales, where we arrived around 07:00 am on the Thursday. There we were met by a brother named Luiz Barros, who took us to his home in Divisópolis (a journey of approx. one hour).

Peter, James and John were privileged to see things relating to our Lord Jesus Christ that no other disciple saw. They alone saw His glory on the Transfiguration mount (Matthew 17:1-6) and His power over death in the house of Jairus (Mark 5:37-43). And during those awful moments in Gethsemane, these three disciples were the ones whom the Lord wanted closer to Him than any other (Mark 14:33-42).

In preaching Christ, the first thing that strikes us is that we preach a Person. In all Old Testament history we behold God; not Deity, an abstraction, not a Divine Power, but the living God; not God hidden in impenetrable darkness, but God in condescending love seeking and saving, and making Himself known.
